Roughly one year ago, Maersk Decom was established as a dedicated company to provide decommissioning solutions to the offshore energy industry. Over the last 12 months we have narrowed in on the value that Maersk Decom brings to the table – from our team of decommissioning experts to our direct access to in-house rigs and vessels – and the potential it offers the industry in the long run. We have summed up this value and potential into our vision for the company.
Our Vision: No resource wasted – Constantly rethinking decommissioning to maximise value and sustainability
What does this mean to us? It means many things, but what it comes down to is that we want to ensure no resources – be it people, time or assets – go to waste in a given decommissioning scope. We will work towards this by focusing on partnership, incorporating and building on industry best practices, utilising our in-house assets and expertise, and benefitting the most stakeholders possible.
Supplying the world with energy demands efficiency from start to finish. We believe responsibly handling end-of-life assets is more than a duty, it’s an opportunity. It is our intention to capitalise on this opportunity and help our customers do the same – restoring the seabed, extending the lifetime of materials, reducing risk and ultimately freeing up value.
We know No resource wasted is a demanding target, but it is our long-term focus. It reflects what we’ve been working towards over the last year and will ensure we are continuously developing and striving higher.

A great deal of what has inspired our vision has come from interacting with the industry, and on behalf of the team I would like to thank everyone who has been a part of our journey thus far.
